On my way to the bus earlier I passed an old woman who had collapsed in the street, she didn't look in a good way and I felt quite physically sick by seeing her lying quite lifeless on the pavement, I could see her face and it didn't look like her eyes were moving.(I'm always surprised by my physical reactions to certain things) and possibly a bit sick from not stopping to help.
I figured there were enough mop(member(s)of the public, I read a lot of ambulance related blogs) getting in the way and crowding the poor woman and I figured at least one of the shops would have a trained first aider, though I know this is often not the case. Do many shops carry defibrillators? I know some shopping centres do but I don't know about small shops.

I do wonder though how many mop know cpr and would be of any use or whether they are all just being nosey/enjoying the drama.
By the time I got on the bus a second ambulance had turned up, the first one seemed to take ages, which is a bad sign as a second crew is needed to confirm death, but may just have been complications.

I feel I know enough crp to be confident to help in such a situation.
I've also used a defibrillator (on a dummy),though wouldn't feel so confident about that, almost broke one too.

BU is tomorrow night, 9 December, from 6 at the Blue Posts Newman St off Oxford St.

It's Christmas so if you're feeling at all festive please bring something Christmassy that's quiet and non edible(the bar staff aren't keen on us bringing food in and I want to start on a good foot with them, thanks) Maybe some tinsle or decorations would be nice.
I can't believe I can't find my santa hat.
N.B You don't need to be Christmassy.

Hope to see you all there.

England got a teeny bit snow!!!! National crisis!
I do find it highly amusing every year, that a slight flutter of snow in England is national news, ooh some kids had to stay off school even, major disaster.

Does anyone have any experience of either the Kenwood FP580 or the FP730 food processors?
The first has a couple of not so great reviews online and the latter all good but more expensive.

Is there anyone else who likes Children in Need?
I know lots of people who absolutely hate it.

But it's the closest thing we get to a variety show these days, I miss real variety shows like London Palladium, and Royal variety is only on once a year.

Though we're only 20 minutes in and I'm sick of hearing the phone number already.

Is there any way to search your journal archive?
So I don't have to trawl through all my entries.

Anyone know anywhere not dodgy where I can download an mp4 file?
vicki_t_veg: (huh)
my parents need to upgrade their internet connection so that they can watch tv online and their current connection speed is crap at 500kbps.
Has anyone got experience of Sky's internet services? As they already have Sky at home. Are they any good or should they avoid?
[livejournal.com profile] syllopsium how are you getting on with Be? They look like they have pretty good deals.
Anyone know if O2 are any good?
Any other suggestion??

How do I get rid of the items in the drop down menu of the address bar?

realised a major flaw with hand blenders; most have buttons that you have to hold down all the time to operate, my hands can't cope with that, but I don't really have room for a big food processor.
Does anyone know of any hand blenders that have just an on and off switch?

Have photos tried to upload to lj gallery which is driving me mad as it keeps losing the gallery and settings. I have photos of the following people, I've checked the photo permission post but I don't know everyone's lj, and some people won't have seen that post.
So if you want copies email me at Vicki.T.Veg@gmail.com

New Music

Aug. 22nd, 2008 04:05 pm

My music collection, which is very varied ranging from country and cheese to rock, metal and jazz,so most stuff really, is really ancient and it's getting a bit stale.
So can I have suggestions for some new music please?

I'm currently quite liking Duffy and some other girly who I can't remember her name.

I currently have one line, the way you wear your hair(or something about hair), from a song that was playing in Woolies the other day but can't find it anywhere, a search for the lyric brings up two main artists and it's not them, I assume it's new, sounded kinda boy band-ish, any ideas?

And OMG I can't believe New Kids On The Block are available for download now; I still the original cassettes and some vinyl of their stuff, I was a huge fan, it's sad I know but I was 13ish.

Any ideas where I can get my hands on £800+ to fund my uni course?
Seems I'm not entitled to any money from "normal" sources as I already have a degree and the course doesn't fit into the right boxes for funding, it's sort of part vocational part professional.
Suppose I could apply for another student loan, but I'm already in lots of debt with them.
